South part of Belgium, Summer 2014
It’s a hidden part of Europe, roaming hills between the
Flamish part of Belgium, and France.
A highly industrialized area stretches along the river Meuse,
but most corporations have long gone.
What is left you can see, you can smell.
Rusted steel mills and secret red light districts.
My black&white films came out with a kind of distructive cancer
after developing. I was very disappointed because many photos
that I was looking forward to were destroyed.
But this series came out feeling the way I am looking back to
this trip with an eerie melancholia.
